Last week meant so much to us. We were honored to be featured in The New York Times @nytimes by @dibamohtasham who beautifully captured the heart of what we’re building with Pomexpo.

For the second year in a row, Pomexpo Norooz Bazaar in Manhattan brought together over 4,000 people in the Flatiron District. We welcomed everyone into a space that was more than a market—it was a place for our community to come together, to remember, to connect, and to hold a meaningful memorial for the lives we’ve lost on the path to a free Iran.

It may be easier to get together when everything is going smoothly. But this community stands by each other when it truly matters—through the hard times, holding each other closer, and not letting go.

This is what community looks like—showing up, sharing culture, and keeping the spirit alive. Thank you to every single one of you who came and supported us.

We hold in our hearts the lives that were lost for a free Iran, and we continue to hope for better days, for the people of Iran, and for a free Iran.

I grew up surrounded by the fragrant spices in my mother’s kitchen and fell in love with cooking from a very young age. Those early memories shaped my connection to food and tradition.

Through my label, Haus of Milād, I create one-of-one and small-edition art, fashion and home accessories, using original textiles and carefully selected materials. My work serves as a loving vessel for personal and collective memories of what was, and dreams of what can be.

Heritage Pantry & Co. is a mother and daughter dream that grew naturally out of everything we love most. Mina brings her culinary training from Le Cordon Bleu, where she studied both cuisine and pastry, along with years of experience working in kitchens across London and New York. Her mother brings two decades of experience in the art world as a gallery owner, with an eye for beauty, creativity, and storytelling.
 Together, we decided to blend our worlds. Cooking and art, tradition and modernity, memory and innovation. What started as family recipes and weekend kitchen experiments has turned into a collection of jams, chutneys, pickles and pantry staples inspired by the traditional flavors of the Middle East with a fresh, modern twist.
 We want every jar to feel like something special. Honest ingredients. Thoughtful flavor. A sense of home, heritage and creativity in every bite. Our goal is to share these flavors with more people through local markets and our online shop. Building this together as mother and daughter has been the most meaningful part of the journey, and we hope you can taste that love in everything we make.

Hi, I’m Melody Attarha, co-founder of Attarha Apothecary alongside my mom, Maryam.

My mom was born and raised in Tehran, and every year we’d go back to Iran to visit family, including my dad’s hometown of Ghamsar Kashan, a city known throughout Iran for its roses and the centuries-old tradition of golab giri, or rosewater distillation. We always came home the same way: luggage packed with special ingredients to cook our way through the year. Every meal and recipe we made with those ingredients carried a little bit of home in them, making them even more special.

Attarha Apothecary came to exist from our desire to share this ritual. Our small-batch rosewater and saffron water are designed for modern kitchens: Persian pantry staples that you can incorporate into anything from baking, cocktails, rice, or just experimenting with something new.

During these times, it means a lot to have the opportunity to gather and be part of the NYC Iranian community. We look forward to bringing something so close to our hearts to Pomexpo!

My name is Bahareh Gharehgozlou, founder and author of the Bahareh Teaches Farsi book series. I was born and raised in Tehran, Iran, and I’ve been a language educator for over 15 years. I started my career with the goal of making conversational Farsi accessible, engaging, and joyful for learners of all backgrounds. My classes and books are designed to teach the language in a simple, structured, and meaningful way.

My mission has always been to contribute to a deeper appreciation of the language and culture of Iran. Persian culture is one of poetry and perseverance, celebration and resilience, and a cradle of civilization that has given so much to the world. At a time when our community carries the collective grief inflicted by the regime and continues to face its efforts to strip away and misrepresent our cultural identity, preserving and sharing the richness of who we truly are feels more important than ever.

Being part of the Iranian community in New York means so much to me. Norooz is a celebration of renewal, resilience, beauty, and cultural continuity. By gathering together and holding events like this, we carry our heritage forward with pride. To present my books at PomExpo Norooz Bazaar is both an honor and a responsibility: to help keep our language and culture alive and celebrate its warmth and depth with future generations as well as the rest of the world.

At our Memorial Center, you can support a relief organization of your choice. 100% of donations go directly to the selected charity.
