Hi! I’m Hediya, the founder of House of Leyli. At House of Leyli, we create seasonal tea collections and meditative experiences inspired by Persian culture.

Some of my fondest memories growing up were sharing Persian tea with my grandmother and mother. We would sit together—three generations of women—sipping tea and reciting poetry. These rituals were not only grounding, but also wove a lasting cultural practice of connection and reflection.

That spirit of cultural exchange, contemplation, and connection is what inspired me to start House of Leyli—a haven to remember and celebrate our home and heritage.

This is why I’m so excited to be part of this year’s Holiday Yalda Market—a beautiful gathering to honor tradition while inspiring love and connection.

Hi, I’m Dyana, the founder of Avenoir Co. I’m a Jordanian-Palestinian & Filipino maker who grew up on my grandmother’s farm in Jordan — a home wrapped in jasmine vines, with fig, olive, and pomegranate trees all around us. We harvested our own olives, foraged for wild thyme and sage, and lived surrounded by the scents that shaped my earliest memories.

Avenoir Co was born from that nostalgia. Every candle and fragrance I create is non-toxic, sustainable, and inspired by the SWANA region — crafted to transport you to a moment, a loved one, or a place that still lives in your heart. I truly believe scent and memory are connected in the most magical way, and I want every product to feel like home.

Hi, my name is Maryam, and my brother Kaveh and I started Nafari Moda out of love, love for our Persian roots, for art, and for the stories that shape who we are.

We wanted to bring a piece of that culture to life in a modern way, through something people can wear and truly feel connected to.

Every pair of our shoes is crafted in Italy and then hand painted here in the U.S., each one telling its own story, just like how our lives are woven from many worlds.

Hi, I am Massi a former national volleyball player from Iran, now a volleyball coach for a national club team and a high school team in New York.

While my career is in sports and mentoring young athletes, my heart is always connected to my Persian roots. I joined the Norooz event not as a professional vendor, but as someone who wanted to bring elements of Haft-Seen to life—sharing the beauty of our traditions and connecting with our community.

It was especially meaningful because many of my friends and student-athletes are curious and excited about Persian culture.

For our very first Haft Seen at Pomexpo, arranged by @rozgols, the spot for Samanoo and Somāgh was made even more special with a beautifully crafted vase from @afidot_de a piece deeply rooted in history and meaning.

The Lotus vase is inspired by the blue lotus, or water lily a sacred symbol in ancient Persian culture, especially during the Achaemenid era. Seen throughout the reliefs of Persepolis, this flower represents purity, spiritual awakening, and the cycle of life.

While many associate Islamic motifs with Persian design, Afidot is committed to reconnecting us with our pre-Islamic heritage. By reintroducing the Lotus motif once found in royal seals, palace art, and ceremonial objects—Afidot creates timeless pieces that celebrate Iran’s true cultural roots.

We’re honored to include such a meaningful design in our Haft Seen.

Hi, I’m Ariana — a Brooklyn based Persian American DJ who loves Norooz and everything it stands for.

To me, Norooz is all about growth, renewal, and the joy that comes with the changing seasons. It’s a time that brings people together in celebration of life, culture, and tradition. There’s so much energy in it hopeful, vibrant, and full of meaning.

Through my music, I love blending my Persian roots with my American identity, creating sounds that are both nostalgic and uplifting.

Hi, I’m Fariba—I’m a calligraphy artist, and my love for this art began back in my hometown of Qazvin, where I was surrounded by the beauty of Nastaliq and traditional Persian scripts.

I started learning from master calligraphers at a young age, and over time, it grew into something much more than just a skill—it became a way to express emotion, culture, and connection.

At Pomexpo Norooz Bazaar, I had the joy of meeting so many lovely people and sharing the meaning behind each piece. Talking with visitors about my calligraphy and seeing how it resonated with them was truly heartwarming. There’s no better feeling than knowing that a part of my art is now part of your home. 💗💫

Over 3,600 people showed up to celebrate Norooz with us at the first ever Pomexpo Norooz Bazaar in Manhattan, and we’re beyond grateful! ❤️🤍💚

Our community showed up strong, and it was incredible to see so many new faces learning about Norooz and joining in the celebration.

The event ran from 10am to 7pm, and by 11:30am, the crowd was so big that we had to start counting every person coming in! The numbers you see in the pictures and videos are only from after 11:30, when we started tracking the entries.

With over 4,000 RSVPs and lines out the door, we’re confident that more than 3,600 people attended. Many of our vendors sold out by 3pm, and for several, it was the busiest market they’ve ever experienced!

This truly felt like the best Eidi (gift) for Norooz. Thank you to everyone who came, supported, and helped spread the love.

A huge shoutout to our amazing vendors, artists, designers, and every single person who helped make this event happen. It was teamwork at its finest, and we can’t wait to do it all again!
