Our very first Norooz Market in Manhattan was March 15, 2025 at the beautiful Detour Gallery in Chelsea. It turned into a day we’ll never forget. More than 4,000 people showed up. Some came from right here in New York and New Jersey, while others traveled all the way from Washington DC, Maryland, and even Boston, just to celebrate together.

 

The gallery was glowing with a beautiful Haftseen, music, food, and the colors of Norooz. Kids ran around wide eyed and happy, taking in the traditions and the energy of the day. Families stopped to explain the Haftseen to them, and you could see the joy on their faces as they discovered something new about their culture.

 

The community came out in full force. Many vendors were completely sold out before 3 PM, and people from the neighborhood wandered in, curious to see what was happening. They ended up learning about Persian traditions, the story of Norooz, and happily shopped from our artists and entrepreneurs.

 

It was one of those days where you could feel the connection in the air, people smiling, supporting each other, and celebrating side by side. A true moment of togetherness leading up to Norooz, and a beautiful reminder of how special it is when culture and community come alive in the heart of New York.
